While we hope all of this clears up sooner rather than later, if you book to come to Latigo this summer, and you are unable to travel due to the pandemic, we’ll refund your deposit or apply it to 2021. We want you to experience our mountain happiness and peace, and we also want you to feel comfortable planning to travel here. No fear, low risk, high pleasure, pure peace.
It seems as if every day brings changes to our lives that make the word normal almost obsolete. But there is so much normal about Latigo these days. Randy, Lisa, Spencer, Amanda, and Hannah are still at the helm. The Latigo horses are spending their days munching hay at the Taussig Ranch. The ducks have begun laying eggs again after a winter hiatus. Vin, the Bernese Mountain Dog, loves nothing more than romping in fresh snow. We’ve just hired the last wrangler to complete our exciting and exceptional 2020 team. Here are some names you might remember from last summer: Phil, Jen, Rob, Dominic, Grace, Corrine, Katie, Hannah Z, and Meghan.
We are choosing to be faithful instead of fearful. Doing the tasks we’ve been given to do fills our days. A longer off-season means more projects on our lists, and we’ve got big plans for ranch improvements. Spencer is confident he’ll finish making 5 new saddles for the barn in the next 8 weeks, and while he’s working with leather, you can be sure his mind will be creating new desserts.
Our winter snows were well above average, and that means a bountiful crop of wildflowers this summer. Picture the sun on your face, a soft breeze lifting your horse’s mane, the haunting screech of a hawk in flight, riding for hours without seeing signs of human life… Does this sound like your happy place right about now?
In our recent guest survey, you told us what you loved most about summers at Latigo: the hospitality, horseback riding, food, and cleanliness.
