We got a question via social media this winter: do I have to have riding lessons before I come to your ranch? Here’s your answer…
Nope.
Here’s the longer answer: we, here at Latigo, have tailored our riding program to guests with every level of riding experience. If you’ve never seen a horse
before, we’ll start from hooves and work our way up, making sure you’re comfortable with the activities and difficulty levels along the way. If you’re an experienced rider, we have faster rides, in-depth horsemanship, and opportunities for growth and fun. We keep a wide variety of horses in our string, both in breeding and in temperament. We give you an 
interview at the beginning of the week to match up your riding goals with our horses, and our track record is excellent. Even so, if you feel like you aren’t getting along with your horse the way you should, we’re ready to listen to the problem, fix it if we can, and give you a different mount if that’s what you need.
If you want to ride with your family, we do that.
If you want to ride into the high country and stay out for the night, we do that.
If you want your kid to go from walk to lope in a week, we do that.
If you want to herd cattle, we do that.
If you want to just do walk rides through the beautiful Rockies, we do that, too.
This isn’t your average nose-to-tail operation, with twenty dudes strung out on dead-broke horses along well-trod trails. This is one of the best vacations you could possibly give yourself and your family.
