“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.’”
Every year, every month, every day, we pray that we do God’s will at Latigo, that we share the love in our hearts with our guests and our staff, and that we would bring glory to Heaven through our actions. Sometimes this goes unnoticed. Sometimes it is difficult. Sometimes it is thankless.
Sometimes our guests say goodbye with tears in their eyes because they know Latigo is different, they just don’t know why.
Our abiding mission at Latigo is colored with the love of God and good will toward our fellow men. This year, this Christmas, God brought a little of that good will back to our doorstep. After hearing of our difficulties with wildfire this summer, two different families groups booked over Christmas to help ensure that we had a good winter season.
The goodness of God never ceases, and after a year on our knees with pleading and thanks, we are once again kneeling with gratitude.
We usually find ourselves the givers of good will (and cookies), but open hearts and ready hands found us accepting that gift this Christmas.
Thank you.
Thank you to our guests.
Thank you to our staff.
Thank you, God, that Latigo is still here.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
