For those who might not be aware, Latigo is on our second year of the Dinner Club program. We select one night per month during our winter season to host a spectacular destination dining experience.
Our January Dinner Club event was a tremendous success last Friday. We were packed full with people who wanted an exclusive dining experience at Latigo. Head Chef, (and owner) Spencer, was at the top of his form with dishes like Salmon Poke and Elderflower cheesecake. Sommelier, (and owner) Amanda, teamed up with him to create an exquisite tasting experience with beer and wine pairings to accompany each course. Chef, (and owner) Hannah, and the Summer 2018 Head Wrangler, Jonathan Kimbriel, both strapped on black aprons to ensure that the service was flawless. Randy and Lisa (owners for over 30 years) were kept busy doing everything from washing dishes to plating food.
Everyone had a fantastic time – whether they were happy just eating the spectacular food or taking home one of the hand-hewn, pine plates Spencer crafted from wood on the property which Jonathan branded for the guests before they left, as you can see in the picture at the top of the post.
Latigo Ranch is Latigo Ranch because the people who run the ranch care. We do this work because we love living here while serving people.
When we mentioned to our fellow ranchers at the recent convention that we were completely booked for this dinner and that our new Head Wrangler was going to drive up to lend a hand... we got more than a few raised eyebrows. You see, that's what we look for when we hire staff, and that is what makes us hire some staff members back year after year. Latigo searches for service-minded people oozing integrity. Because it isn't about getting the next tip or the next paycheck; it's about providing the highest standard of personal service for each guest.
We are told time and again that there is just something different about Latigo – even from guests who have frequented other ranches.
When we sit down to family dinner, we're planning out just how we can make each summer better than the next, serve each week better than the last, and give each guest the experience of a lifetime – whether they're here for a week or just for dinner. That's what ownership means at Latigo: service to the highest degree.
