I saw our first blooming pasque flower today as I went for an evening walk. What a thrill to see the reminder that winter truly won’t last forever. Spring at Latigo is heralded by many unique events: the melting of the ice on the pond, the sound of honking geese resting briefly in the hay meadow, the arrival of the mountain bluebirds, budding pussy willows, robins looking for worms in the muddy muck that can be found wherever the snow has melted, and a list of urgent projects as long as our arm. Our staff begin to arrive in less than three weeks, and we’re looking forward to building a team with them. Our optimism is growing that this will be our best summer yet; it will be our 21st summer season at Latigo!
