Although we’ve been desperately hanging onto the fall season, I think we’ve given up and acknowledged winter’s arrival. Our ground has been white forover a month, but with the last foot of snow, the hope that it will melt anytime soon has vanished.
I haven’t exchanged the cowboy boots for the ski boots just yet as we’ll still need to saddle up to move the herd to their final winter pasture at the beginning of December, but it won’t be long before Jim will begin setting ski track on our horse trails.
The fall season is our time for traveling. We have taken many trips to see family and attend conferences, but by the time Christmas draws near, we’ll be hunkered down at the ranch to serve our snow loving guests, and here we’ll stay until we begin to see the winter thaw. Such a cyclical life we live – but such a grand life it is.
